As reported by Frost Global earlier this year, the Seven Network is the new domestic broadcaster for the Australian Masters and the ISPS HANDA Perth International. Seven signed a three year broadcast deal with IMG in June. The first tournament under this new deal gets underway later this week with the ISPS HANDA Perth International.
Ahead of the tournament starting on Thursday, Seven has released its national broadcast details. As correctly predicted by Frost Global earlier this year, Seven is utilising its multichannel sports strategy, with news it will broadcast each day of the tournament exclusively live on 7TWO.
7TWO’s coverage will be hosted by Sandy Roberts and he will be joined in commentary by Peter Donegan, Ossie Moore, Warren Humphreys and Lyndsay Stephen. It is important to note that IMG Media (it is an IMG event) will produce the broadcast with overlay from Seven Sport. This is similar to the V8 Supercars, where V8 Supercars Media produces the broadcast for Seven, with Seven supplying the on-air talent.
Seven will also broadcast the Australian Masters (another IMG event) from Royal Melbourne and the Australian Open at Royal Sydney later this year. Network Ten will cover the World Cup of Golf which will also being played at Royal Melbourne from 21-24 November 2013 and the PGA Championship from its new location on the Gold Coast.
7TWO’s coverage of the ISPS HANDA Perth International starts at 1pm AEDST on Thursday.
