Last year 1.38 million viewers tuned into Djokovic v Murray battle it out for Grand Slam glory. However this year’s 5 hour and 53 minute epic final that graced our screens last night and into the early hours of this morning have blown last year’s figure out of the water.
Early reports suggest an average of 2.4 million viewers in metro markets watched Seven’s coverage of the epic Djokovic v Nadal final, the longest final in Grand Slam history.
This is double the number who watched Saturday night’s final that saw Victoria Azarenka take out the 2012 Australian Open Women’s Singles crown.
